Why do I love regular old graphite pencils so much? In my drawing classes, I always wanted to use pencils for everything and the teachers were always making me use something else. There must be something in art professors' contracts stating that they must always force students to use charcoal. It's probably a big conspiracy with the charcoal mafia...
But pencils are great. I love using them and they always feel so comfortable and natural to me. I feel like I have to fight with a lot of drawing tools but not these.
Anyway, this is 9x12" on more Stonehenge paper. I'm also in love with Stonehenge (in case you couldn't tell). It always erases so cleanly and I love the thickness and texture of it.

I remember on my Art Foundation course, we were discouraged to use pencils too and outlines were outlawed. Ridiculous really.
Coincidentally, this morning I changed my my facebook status to "wacom tablet, scanner, printer & lightbox but not one pencil in this whole house when I need one"...
Did they tell you that old story about lines not existing in nature? As though paint and paper and all those art tools exist in nature :)
Ha, yes! I think teaching art is almost a contradition in iteslf
