Collages

So here's two of the collages I was starting on a week ago.  Top one is 9x12" and the bottom one is 8x10".  I printed out the magazine pictures, some scanned wood, and I did a little spray painting with some little stencils I cut.  It's nice working on this kind of project because I could work a little at a time in between doing schoolwork and reading.  I'm not sure what I think about them yet...I'll have to let them sit for a little while and look at them again.  I definitely had fun messing around with them, though.  I've got a few more pieces of paper with spray paint on them so they will end up collaged too.

oooh they are great. they are so you ~isn't collage a whole different way of thinking! i find i have to not think when i'm making them or i get too fussy and loose the spontenaity {can't spell today} that makes them work. . .
can't wait to see more :)

Thanks! I'm less confident about making the collages, so I appreciate your kind words :)

I'm trying to cut shapes based on what feels like the "right" way to use the scissors...sort of like how I use my brushes or drawing tools. I hope that makes sense...

You are having fun!!Yea!! I can see you feel a little hesitant-I feel like that too very often too- but the love of it finally sweeps me away and I think it does you as well- This is lovely and I can't wait to see more - you are very good to be doing this and school work and all the other things in your life! And I agree with you about drawing- there's nothing like a good travellng line!
Have fun

I like the different elements you put in -- inexpensive but very pretty!

these are great! i really like the spray painting technique! it really softens the whole feel of them. no reason to not be confident, these are lovely and as you keep doing collages you will only get better and better, and better. : )

Thanks so much, ladies! I agree, Leah, I need to just do more of them and it'll get easier.
